Dear Valued S-Net Customer,
The terrorist attacks in the United States on 11 September 2001 have had an impact not only in the US but also in the rest of the world. Even the freight transportation industry has not been spared.
Most of the commercial airlines have informed us that they have implemented, or will be implementing, a cargo insurance surcharge that is due to increased security personnel and equipment at airports around the world.
The airline surcharges are substantial and S-Net is unable to absorb these additional costs. You may therefore find a cargo insurance surcharge fee in your invoice on all international air shipments wherever applicable, with immediate effect. The surcharges are different in each country and with each airline.
For your convenience, we have posted a chart of all current surcharges on our website under “Customer Resources.” Do note that changes will be made to the charts as and when changes occur, so we strongly recommend that you contact your local S-Net office for the latest information.
We truly appreciate your business and we continually strive to keep your freight transportation activities as smooth and efficient as possible.
Yours faithfully,
Cyril Rodrigo
Chief Executive Officer
